Can AI Replace Doctors? This Study Says Maybe
Google AI has developed a new language model that can answer medical questions with the same accuracy and bias as doctors.
A valuable tool for information and supporting decision-making
Trained on a dataset of medical text and code, the model was able to correctly answer 92.6% of the questions asked of it, in line with the 92.9% accuracy rate of human doctors. Researchers believe it is important to be aware of its limitations and that it should not be used as a replacement for medical advice.
